Dr Kenny Simmen

Dr Kenny Simmen, with over 30 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry was, up to recently, part of the Johnson & Johnson Infectious Diseases & Vaccines leadership team. Through his work with Johnson & Johnson Innovation he led the establishment of many international collaborations & license agreements with biotechs and leading academic teams in the US, Europe and Asia.

Dr Simmen was instrumental in driving the antiviral R&D strategy in J&J, and his team advanced multiple candidates into clinical development, including the Hepatitis C virus protease inhibitor (Simeprevir) developed in collaboration with Medivir AB that reached market approval, for which he is also a co-inventor.
